The pistol is a gun-type item that has a much higher range than the shotgun, but much less damage. It requires bullets as ammunition, and although it does technically "shoot" the bullets, the impact is instant and has no visible projectile. The bullets cannot be recovered, regardless of hunting skill. It cannot be crafted through normal means, but it can be obtained through the map editor. It can also be obtained by paying 95 bags of gold to a pirate in Random Island mode, 3 bags for 10 bullets so you can have ammo.
