The shotgun is a gun-type weapon that has shorter range than the pistol, but does higher damage. It requires bullets as ammunition, and although it does technically "shoot" the bullets, the impact is instant and has no visible projectile. The bullets cannot be recovered, regardless of hunting skill, but the damage is incredibly high and one should be able to one-hit most units. In terms of damage it's only surpassed by the rocket launcher, which also has an indefinitely greater range and splash damage. The shotgun cannot be crafted through normal means, but can be obtained through the map editor.
